Dolly and Rotary help spread literacy

You can never get enough books in the hands of children, says country music legend Dolly Parton.

Since 2009, Rotary International has been working with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to promote early childhood reading. Through the program, a child receives an age-appropriate book each month until age five. Rotary clubs throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom have been teaming up with Dolly to bring books to children in roughly 300 communities.

You can read bout Rotary’s work with the Imagination Library in your March issue of The Rotarian magazine.

Recorded “Rotary Stories” are online

Thank you, six brave Rogers Rotarians and videographer Paul Kelzer! The Rogers club is well represented in District 5950’s “Rotary Story” video campaign.

Paul edited and uploaded the videos to the district site and created a YouTube channel to see the videos: www.youtube.com/user/RogersRotary.

He has offered to video more members’ stories when he returns from business travel later this month. Take Paul up on his offer and tell your story in 60 seconds (or less!).

Another goal achieved!

Rogers Rotary welcomes Beth Westerman and Heather Farr into full membership. Because of you, President Floyd has been able to lead the club to a significant milestone of 40 members. Rogers Rotary is now on the brink of becoming a “medium-sized” District 5950 clubs—quite an accomplishment since chartering in 2006.
