Great Event for Corner House in Rogers

Rogers Rotary sponsors Benefit Concert for CornerHouse. This non-profit developed the protocol for interviewing victims of child abuse and conducts interviews across Hennepin County and throughout the state. The new center, which is attached to the Rogers Police Department, will be opening next week.

Across Hennepin County last year, there were 20,000 reports of child abuse. As many interviews as possible were performed in a similar way at the Minneapolis location. “Without any cost to tax payers other than a bucket of paint, we really economically provided them a space that’s going to be long-term,” said Rogers Police Chief Jeff Beahen. Rogers Rotary participates in the 5950 District Assembly

District 5950 does it again by bringing in motivational speaker Annie Meehan! Annie had just received the Benjamin Franklin award for her book Be The Exception.  Attendance was fantastic with 3 Rotarians attending from Rogers Rotary! What a great way to re-charge our service above self batteries and share in all the new ideas and excitement as we get closer to a new Rotary year.

It is better to give than to receive…….

At Rogers Rotary we love to have fun! President Tim Buck has everyone draw a ticket for a “potentially good gift” or a “white elephant gift”. Cheri is a winner with a bag of great gifts from I94 Chamber. Loser gets the job of coming up with the next white elephant gift. Come join us, make new friends and have fun giving to the community and the world.
